The judge panel credited Tunghai for three education characteristics in cultivating students’ character and leadership through “Liberal Arts and Residential Learning”; developing sense of social responsibility through“Practical Labor Education and Service Learning” ; and enriching diversifying education systems through “Dialogue and Blending of Technology and Humanities”. Besides, in accordance with the concept of “grand general education” in the MOE Rooting Program, Tunghai has integrated common required courses into modules to offer courses that focus on English/Chinese language proficiency, profession & communication, and multi-culture recognition. The Tunghai General Education Center works with units inside and outside of the university to develop courses that broaden student visions and enrich humanity competencies.
