THU Organizes “Pro-Life and Environment Smart Manufacturing Exhibition”

Ecology, green energy, and sustainability are no doubt important issues and responsibilities shared by mankind in the 21st century. Tunghai University Art Center hosted a “Pro-Life and Environment Smart Manufacturing Exhibition” with ecology, green energy, and sustainability as pillar themes was, curated by Prof Wen-Hai Lin, Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Creative Design. The exhibition lasted for one month starting from April 15th.
Tunghai organizes Pro-Life and Environment Smart Manufacturing Exhibition
President Mao-Jiun Wang said that Tunghai University values environmental sustainability and has been working for the sustainability of culture, society, economy and ecology. It has long paid attention to issues on sustainable environment and provided students with cross-domain learning opportunities. The curator prof Lin said that the environmental protection of Tunghai University campus and the research results were always obvious to all. This exhibition showcased the capacity of research on environmental issues in different departments of Tunghai University. It encompassed the subjects of natural environment, living space and biodiversity through different perspectives, and further reflected on the current status of existence and future life.
Exhibition Site
The exhibition presented an environment improvement plan for Tungda Creek jointly carried out by the Taichung City Government and Tunghai University; an AIoT project of the College of Engineering using Tunghai Lake and its surrounding area as the application field; Project Moses of the Architecture Department providing a different perspective on the destruction of water resources and the deterioration of historical villages in ancient civilization; Biophilia Micro Architecture of the Architecture Department transforming natural bio-wisdom into architectural forms while discovering the aesthetic order and symbiotic essence of reason and emotion from nature; Never-Say-Goodbye Project of the Fine Arts Department showing the biodiversity of algal reef environment at Taoyuan; high resolution panorama sketch of Mars captured by Curiosity Rover introduced by Life Science Department; the Seed Project of the Landscape Design Department demonstrating the biodiversity of the earth based on a seed; a closed ecosystem of geodesic dome structure of the International College experimenting the Sabatier reaction and using ionic liquids to decompose polysaccharides, in an attempt to create a real living environment.

Tunghai Faculty and Guests at the exhibition
The core theme of this exhibition was the construction of a sustainable environment. Through the display and promotion, awareness on ecology, green energy, sustainability, and pro-life environment were brought to the attention of the public and students of Tunghai University so as to stimulate more environment-friendly research and creation.
