Tunghai Department of Chemistry Hosts "2020 Advanced Chemistry Knowledge and Application Conference and Student Paper Presentation"

The "2020 Advanced Chemistry Knowledge and Application Conference and Student Paper Presentation", held on June 20, 2020 at Tunghai University, was hosted by THU Department of Chemistry and sponsored by the Taichung Chapter of the Taipei Chemical Society. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference speech and oral paper reading contest were suspended, only the poster presentation competition was held in an outdoor venue. The poster competition was divided into four major areas: Analytical Chemistry; Organic and Biochemical, Inorganic and Materials Chemistry; Physical Chemistry and Applied Chemistry. In each group, there were three judges to review, ask questions, and score.
2020 Advanced Chemistry Knowledge and Application Conference was held outdoors
Participants of the conference came from all schools in Taiwan. A total of 140 professors and students attended the meeting, including more than 30 professors who made it to the venue to give students guidance and suggestions. The 63 poster papers were submitted from National Taipei University of Science and Technology, National Taiwan Normal University, Fujen University, Chung Yuan University, Tunghai University, Providence University, National Chung Hsing University, Chung Shan Medical University, National Taichung University of Education, National Changhua University of Education, National Chi Nan University, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, etc. After a day of intense exchanges, discussions and reviews, the conference ended successfully after an awards ceremony was held.
Participating professors
The conference provides research students, master's and doctoral students of chemistry-related departments with a platform to exchange and share their research results, and to gain opinions from peer researchers before graduation. The organizer, the Department of Chemistry, thanked the Office of Research and Development, the College of Science, and the Taipei Chemistry Society Taichung Chapter for funding the event; They also thanked the administrative departments of Tunghai in their support in providing the equipment, venue, and publicity work.
