David Erhan, a graduate student of Industrial Engineering of Tunghai University, won the 29th Management Doctor and Master Thesis Award on August 15, 2020. The award is organized by the Chinese Management Association and sponsored by Fubon Life Insurance Company.
David Erhan delivers award acceptance speech
The award attracted 723 papers from 16 countries this year. Over 200 professors were engaged in the evaluation of the papers submitted from 72 institutions. Only 10% of the papers entered the final selection and 11 winners, 62 honor-mentions, and 6 best practice applications were awarded.

With his paper “Relationship Between R&D Investment and Exploratory Innovation in Family Firms”, Tunghai IE graduate student, David Erhan, won the winner award of Business Management and Strategic Management category. Mr. Erhan thanked his advisors, Prof. Jao-Shin Hon and Prof. Chen-Yang Cheng, for their tireless guidance and for encouraging him to enter the competition. He attributed the award to his family, saying that for the 6 years of studying in Taiwan, his family in Indonesia had been constantly supportive and praying for him. Mr. Erhan also thanked the members of Tunghai Department of Industrial Engineering and Enterprise Information who have provided him with professional knowledge as well as love during his stay in Taiwan.
