Tunghai University invited Harvard Business School Professor Laura Huang to give a speech on
"Humanity and Cross-domain Learning in the AI Era"
Besides being a renowned scholar, Prof. Huang is the author of the best-seller “Edge: Turning Adversity into Advantage” and an expert consultant for enterprises in turning adversities into advantages. After her speech explaining how AI can be combined with humanities and applied to cross-domain learning, experts from academia and industry were invited to participate in a forum named “Flipped Education in the AI era x Humanistic innovation and industrial upgrading”. The insightful analysis and discussions with in-depth critical thinking brought a shining highlight to the forum. The forum was participated by over 200 people, including panelists Management College Dean Horng-Ji Chen, Academic Affairs Dean Hao-Hsui Chiu, FCC Partners President CY Huang, and Tunghai Placement and Alumni Office Director Ching-Tsorng Tsai.

President Mao-Jiun Wang said that Tunghai University, with its profound cultural heritage, has been emphasizing liberal arts and cross-domain learning. In recent years, due to the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) applications, flipping education to cultivate students with competitive strength in the workplace has also become a major goal of the University. The speech and sharing of ideas and practical experiences in teaching, research, and industry by Professor Huang would greatly inspire our students in AI cross-domain learning.

Prof. Laura Huang received an MS and BSE in electrical engineering from Duke University, an MBA from INSEAD, and a PhD from the University of California, Irvine. She is now an associate professor of business administration in the Organizational Behavior Unit of Harvard Business School. Prior to joining HBS, she was an assistant professor of management at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. She has won a number of awards for her research, and was named one of the 40 Best Business School Professors Under the Age of 40 by Poets & Quants.
